My question is: I have MIO c320 with installed MIOMAP on it.Is it possible to to install iGO 8/6 on it further.THE device in base come with MIOMAP 3.3(igo6 from. Well, all things considered, any reasonable person would have to conclude Joy Division a bunch of New Wave wankers compared to bands like ABC and Buffalo Girls. Maybe that's why Ian topped himself; Barney's a much better New Wave front man than Ian, in his epileptic nightmares, could ever have 'dreamed' of becoming.

I recently have purchased a MIO C320 and have found some hacks on other forums. I am searching for a forum with a better format than the one I have been recently using. I have learned some interesting things on the forum but it is just not that user friendly. I am hoping to find another forum with smarter people than me that know how to do some hacking. Take a look at this site and see what you think. I currently have this hack installed and it looks pretty good. http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=104901&whichpage=1 Let me know what you think. I can watch videos on my C320 thanks to this hack. I am not representing any of this work as my own. I just would like to find a better forum.

Looks like we'll have to stick with the action over in gpspassions as not much interest here, so far. I tried MioPocket v1.2 on my 320 and while it is pretty slick the lockups I experienced, taskbar sensitivity and unusable links forced me to delete it. Too bad Indabox will not be doing any more development for the C320 version for the forseeable future. All I want at the moment is a good media player and while I tried the latest variation ot TCPMP (?) I gave up on that one as well. Any suggestions? Looks like you and me care. 99 Views as of today and we are the only responders. Oh well sounded good.
Yep... I started playing with Jerry's skin and the 2008.01.17 version seems to be working OK for me, so far. Seems newer versions broke something. Still need to add a media player and change the startup screen.
I am up for 'hacking' the mio - I plan on getting one in the next few weeks, so when I do I will post my results! I just returned the navigon 2100 and am looking for a basic gps and dont want to pay garmins high price / lack of features. http://c230.wordpress.com/ here is a link to a site with lots of info - this person also posts alot to gpspassion - jim
here is a hack to make your 320 have TTS Add TTS to your C320!
ok - so I ended up with a 320 from radio shack and its not to bad.. the maps could be newer but for now its ok.. I have been trying every unlock and skin I can find. In my opinion, Jerry's is the best. The one drawback (besides the maps) is that you can not save routes - yet. Jerry indicated he is working on it for future releases. I have also tied the c230 unlock on the 320 with no luck. So - it looks like mio is the way to go for me - now the question is - keep the c320 or upgrade to the c520 or.. go to the c230. The price point of the c230 is awesome, but I really like the widescreen. The c520 has lots more poi then the 320 or 230 but the 230 has newer maps - who knows if the 320 or 520 will ever get them.. for now I have another few days left of the return policy on the 320 so we shall see.. jim
There are 'hacked' maps and versions of MioMap out there if you go hunting. I have tried the Igo8 map (2007.10) for my state only and while it adds the speed limits to major highways (speed limit warnings now work also) I think the POIs are now less than they are on your original maps, which is about 1.7 million, I think. I am mostly using 2007.07 maps and they are giving me the 12 million POI database. I am also running MioMap v3.3 Jan 10 2008 build. I am finding there is a problem/bug regarding imported POI lists under My POI and it has been there starting with the Dec build, maybe even SEP build - Every time you do a reset it reverts/defaults to 'Show' mode of all your imported POIs and it will make your 320 seem like it locked up while it tries to build the list to display on the map/split screen mode when you tap the POI button. I was hoping it would be fixed in the January release but it has not. I think the last time it was OK was with the July 2007 build. Once you get TTS installed and if you continue to use Jerry's skin or similar you can pretty much end up with a C520. I am using Jerry's 20080213 build, but it is still being tested and developed, as you know. MicPocket looks interesting also. Saving routes would be a good addition and I hope they can do it. Have you heard about C720t being clearanced out by Best Buy lately? Some prices supposedly as low as about $125! I checked locally and $359 was the lowest price, but I have not checked this week. Probably should. -Jim-
Spyder - thanks for the info. I did read about the 720 being clearenced - but have not seen it at any local bb.. I ended up taking back the c320 and getting a c230 just to try - its not bad. I miss the widescreen though. Right now it looks like I will go with either the c230 or c520 / 320 - I emailed jerry and he said he is working on a way to import and save routes.. the saving of the routes is awesome in the 230. jim
I just got a c320 from RS. and am very pleased. I would like to get into the hacking part of it. I do have a question though. Can you use the Mio c320 as a PDA ?
yes and no.. head over to gpspassion for more hacking talk
Anyone knows how to get Malaysia map working with MIO H610 model? Really love this model but unfortunately it is not sold in South East Asia region.
I've done the simple hack for opening maps on my H610. Now I need a China map but can't find one. Anyone have any ideas?
